Portable X Ray system donation

\SAFE organized a team including Dr Wendell Gibby, a radiologist and inventor, to travel to the Rusitu Mission Hospital in Eastern Zimbabwe this week. SAFE had donated a portable X-Ray system (designed by Dr Gibby) to the hospital in 2019 but power shortages and other problems had kept it from being fully functional. After downloading new software and some further instructional sessions with hospital personnel, the x-ray worked and patients lined up to get X-rayed.

HIV self testing kit donation

In 2022 and again this year, SAFE is supporting our local partners in Zimbabwe by donating HIV self-test kits. SAFE’s country representative, Lulu Simango, shows off a poster SAFE provided funding for, explaining the self-test kits.

Action for Youth Foundation

Action for Youth Foundation-Trust is thrilled to announce the launch of its Economic Strengthening Program for Young Positives (ESP4Y+) Project with generous financial support from Saving African Families Enterprise (SAFE). The ESP4Y+ project pilot phase will empower 60 Youths Living with HIV in Harare South Western District who are out of school by providing them with the skills and resources on Dishwasher Making to improve their lives and become self-sufficient. Many Young People living with HIV face stigma and discrimination, which can make it difficult for them to pursue education and job opportunities. Through the support from SAFE, we will offer training sessions and start-ups that will help participants learn vital skill such as financial literacy, entrepreneurship. These skills are crucial for helping them find stable employment or even start their own businesses.
